Sunset over the beach. Near Gyrn Goch, Llyn Peninsular. July 2020
Getting the right sort of conditions for these shots can be tricky. You need to be at the right point on the coast for the sun to set over the sea, and have the weather conditions for a clearish sky. I would like to have another try, now I have some more filters to make the exposure length even longer.
Wave crashing over a rock. Kennack Sands, Cornwall August 2020.
I love just sitting at the edge of the water and watching as it comes into shore, crashing over rocks that get in the way. The water looks almost ice-like.
Pebbles on the shore. Cadgwith Cove, Cornwall. August 2020
Playing around with focus, can highlight different parts of the image. The people in this photo are not the main focus.
Bubbles in a stream. Wales, July 2020
When we couldn’t get to the beach during lockdown 2020 we would go and find local rivers and streams to play in. I love the energy of this image.
Reflections in the lake. Lake Tegid. April 2019.
As evening falls and the air becomes still the surface of the lake becomes mirror like making the reflections really clear,
Wave in motion. Stream in Wales. April 2020.
The wave in this stream looks fixed in time, with the water around it looks active.
Sunlight over the seaweed forest, Llyn Peninuslar, July 2021
It was a bright sunny day when this was taken, meaning the sunlight streamed through the water highlighting the seaweed below.
Late evening over Bala June 2021
Playing arund with long exposures long after the sun had set. The colours made for a very moody looking photo.
Young Compass Jellyfish, Cornwall August 2021
I love the way this young jellyfish is reflected in the surface of the water above it.
Under and above Bala June 2021
I love how the light is catching the twig under the surface of the water.
